Great Scott! Nike Has Released A Self-Lacing Shoe Because The Future Is Now

It’s 2019: we have apps to keep in touch with everyone, apps that help us find dates, and apps that can get food to our doorstep within 30 minutes. So if you were wondering what’s next, boy oh boy, we’ve got news for you.

Nike has released a brand new line of sneakers that are not only self-lacing, they light up and adjust to your feet to give you the comfiest fit available. And, of course, these smart shoes can be teamed up to your smartphone.

An app will help you fine-tune your fit, check the battery levels of your shoes, and most importantly — customise the colour of your shoes’ lights. And just to prove the shoes are smarter than all of us combined, they remember how tight or loose you prefer your footwear via the app. Quite literally, you’ll never trip over your shoelaces again.

The Back To The Future-esque shoes have been designed with athletes in mind, but honestly if you put on a pair of these bad boys and just walk to the grocery store you’re an athlete in my mind.
