The debut of the forever charming radio duo Hamish and Andy’s television series True Story this week has sparked an unexpected heap of controversy.

The series itself divided viewers, and following its premiere Nova radio jock David Lutteral a.k.a Luttsy tried to claim ownership of the radio’s pairs idea – with listeners opinions landing squarely on team H & A.

But now, Luttsy is changing his story, saying “some things were said on our breakfast radio program on Monday about Hamish and Andy that were pretty serious allegations about the concept of their program true story being stolen,” he went on,

“I fully accept now that that was not the case,” Luttsy said.

“It is clear to me that they had conceived and documented the format for true story over a year before I met with Andy in New York.”

The backtracking came after a spokesperson for Channel 9’s wholly denied Luttsy’s claim, verifying that the idea for True Story was years in the making, even disclosing a concept document dated back to 2013.

“While I pitched a concept that had some similarities I accept that Hamish and Andy came up with their idea independently from mine,” he said.

“I apologise to Hamish and Andy and their team for implying they took my idea.”

Let us hope, that’s the end of that chapter.
