This is news that none of us saw coming.

The Bachelor’s Keira Maguire and The Bachelorette’s Sam Johnston – aka the series’ ‘villains’ – were scheduled to appear on the US spinoff show Bachelor in Paradise before the series was rocked by controversy last week.

The entire production was shut-down after sexual misconduct was reported by one of the production members. It’s all getting very messy with each party providing statements, read a full breakdown of the allegations here.

Keira told NW Magazine she was ready to go over to film the show, when she was told the production had stopped “indefinitely”.

“I had my bags all ready to go, then on Sunday morning, I woke up and literally had five missed calls,” Keira said.

Sam also confirmed to the magazine he was getting ready to appear on the trashy reality spinoff, but added that he was disheartened by what had gone down with the contestants and crew.

“I’m very shocked and surprised (the production company) would blatantly ignore their duty of care,” he said.

This also is a bit of a spanner in the works for Sam, as he is supposedly seeing fellow bachy bae Noni Janur, and the purpose of the whole Bachelor in Paradise format is for the island of attractive people to be single and ready to mingle. What would Noni say?

It’s widely assumed Bachelor in Paradise will not return or reschedule.
