Okay, now that’s clear. Let’s talk those final four words. The ones that creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has been teasing fans with all these years. Well Amy:

WTAF???!!!

Just a refresher, here they are. The setup has Rory and Lorelai sitting on the Stars Hollow gazebo steps, before saying:

Rory: “Mum?”

Lorelai: “Yeah?”

Rory: “I’m pregnant.”

Apart from the confusion these words confounded, they just weren’t expected. Many had speculated that the four words would be something along the lines of, ‘I love you Mum’, ‘Welcome to Stars Hollow’ or you know, ‘Kirk is our overlord’, but a bombshell like that was not on the list.

But it does make sense. Consistent with the ‘full circle’ theme that carries through the revival, a pregnancy ending the series, does call back to the series’ origin. Especially so, as Rory ends the show not in a committed relationship, and is possibly about to become a single mother, like her mum.

I’m personally not completely sold on it. But in the mean time, who DA FUNK is the father?! This is the burning question sure to confuse viewers. But I’m confident I’ve solved the mystery.

Here are the contenders: Logan(obvs), boyfriend Paul, and her one-night stand Wookiee. Now Jess had also been close to Rory throughout the second half of the revival (appearing in two scenes with her, but also in the background with Luke), but we just don’t know whether they hooked up or not. Probably not.

Based on what we do see, one thing I noticed is that Rory drinks alcohol (rather heavily) throughout most of the season. It is not until the end of the revival, that we stop seeing Rory sipping on booze like she’s in Ab Fab.

The only guy she hooked up with before she stopped drinking was…Logan. As we can assume, when the Life and Death Brigade tore into down, Rory stayed with Logan in the motel, and yada yada yada… sex was had.

So, there you have it. Based on all the info, Logan is the most likely baby daddy. Sure, the choice of Rory suddenly stopping chugging down hooch after seeing Logan could be random. But nothing in the Gilmore universe is usually by chance.

Sorry, team Jess and err Dean, but think of this: it’s actually pretty fitting for the series.

Logan’s arc has followed a similiar story to Rory’s father Christopher’s narrative. Logan comes from a life of privilege and wanted to marry Rory but she rejected him, but then… has his baby. Sound familiar? It’s all speculation at this point. But hey, she could do worse.
