9. Gone Girl

The Girl on the Train was increasingly compared to Gone Girl, and while both books were critically acclaimed, most would agree that the later was a more successful adaption. Starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the film received wide praise. The story centres on the mysterious disappearance of Amy, as her husband Nick becomes a suspect and embroils himself in the media circus that forms around the conspiracy.
