BiC For Her Pen

International Women’s Day: BiC Pens Fail Equality With Their Pen For Women Promo

Yesterday, on International Women’s Day, we took a pledge for parity; gender equality on all spectrums.

Unfortunately, women’s products (for women because they are pink!), for some reason are being sold at a greater cost to their masculine counterparts over and over again. We’ve seen this before with the tampon tax and women’s shavers and yesterday BIC pens, despite good intentions failed with their Women’s Day campaign.

In 2012, BIC pens released a “for her” pen. Praise be, because I had no idea how to write before!

To celebrate International Women’s Day yesterday, BIC decided to promote their pen ‘designed for women’ out to select offices. What ensued, of course, was employees absolutely taking the piss for all the right reasons…

Poor dude needs a man’s pen, specifically in periwinkle blue. Of course, he will get the standard pen much cheaper than he would get the for her pen.

But SERIOUSLY what is going on people? Why are is the pink tax happening? Why are women paying tax for essential items like tampons and pads, yet condoms have no tax?

Don’t believe that this is still happening, here, have a look at this screen shot from shavershop.com.au from about 1.30pm today.

Where’s your pledge for parity BIC, Schick and Australian Government? Abolish the pink tax. It’s making you look silly.

We’ve been sent a box of ‘BIC for her’ pens designed especially for women to celebrate International Women’s Day. Revolutionary http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B004FTGJUW
