With the horrendous acts of racial violence in America these past days, it comes as no surprise that tensions are running high across the nation.

Five police officers were killed by gunmen during a Black Lives Matter (BLM) protest in Dallas. The protest was a response to the two killings of black men shot by police in the past week.

Americans and people all around the world have since taken to social media with messages of peace and anti-violence sentiments.

However, former Republican Congressmen Joe Walsh decided to take the most absolutely disgusting path possible.

In the now deleted tweet, the Republican labelled the exchange of violence as “war”.

Walsh warned for Obama, and the “black lives matter punks” to watch out for “Real America[ns]”…err whoever they are?? Reading in between the lines, it looks like the former Illinois Congressmen is practically calling for a race war. Yes, a race war in 2016.

The tweet has received wide-scale condemnation.

Milwaukee Bucks player Jabari Parker confronted Walsh in a tweet, stating he and all of Chicago will make sure no one harms the president.

Walsh has since defended his tweets claiming that he “wasn’t calling for violence”. Lol!!

Rather, the former Congressmen claimed he was blaming the BLM activists and the president for the deaths of police officers.

Whether or not the tweet incited violence, Walsh’s tweets were in serious bad taste and disgustingly out of touch.
