2018 just went from okay to fucking epic with the news that arguably the greatest comedy EVER, The Office, is coming back.

TV Line is reporting that The Office revival is in the works, with the plans just being finalised. A source confirmed to the news site that it’s expected to return for the 2018-2019 season and will feature a mix of new and old cast members.

Unfortunately, Steve Carell aka Michael Scott will not be involved in the new series and the producers are apparently searching for a new boss to star.

NBC’s network president Bob Greenblatt said earlier in the year that following the network’s successful series comeback with Will & Grace, other series such as The Office were being considered for revival seasons.

“We often talk about The Office,” he told Deadline., saying:

“I’ve talked to Greg [Daniels] four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe someday, but not now’. There is certainly an open invitation, but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I would do it.”

While nothing has been 100 percent confirmed by the network execs, we can only hope that some of our series faves like John Krasinski, Ellie Kemper and Mindy Kaling would be reuniting.
