Richie & Alex Reunited On ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Tonight & It Was Pretty Hectic
The moment we’ve all been waiting for on Bachelor In Paradise finally made its way to our screens tonight: Richie Strahan and Alex Nation finally came face-to-face after their bitter breakup.
The show aired its longest unedited scene to date as the two went back-and-forth over the “grubby” details surrounding their breakup.

After the initial shock of seeing each other in Fiji, Richie and Alex sat down to talk things over. Considering the last time we saw these two on our screens was when they were frolicking in chocolate baths, making out heavily and declaring their love for each other, things took quite a turn.
While both Richie and Alex didn’t quite get into the details of the split, it seemed bad communication and physical distance created issues for them at the best of times, and at the worst of times, it became a dealbreaker.
In her on-camera piece, Alex highlighted a time she “really needed Richie” saying that the couple went through a hard patch.
“The man I needed the most couldn’t put a few little things aside to be there for me when I really needed him.”
Here’s exactly what went down during Richie and Alex’s chat:
When discussing the unnamed incident, Alex told Richie she was hurt he hadn’t been there for her while Richie argued that work kept him in WA and it was completely beyond his control.
“I was working Alex, I was on a mine site,” he said. Alex then questioned why he couldn’t get on a plane and be there for her when he knew what she “had to do”.
While Richie maintained he was trying to be there for Alex saying they talked on the phone “for hours at length”, Alex said she needed his presence more. “You say you jumped through hoops but I barely saw you,” Alex said. “I had a child that I wanted you to see more, I needed more of your presence.”
And just when the storm started to settle with Alex and Richie both agreeing they needed to have this conversation, Richie threw a spanner in the works.
“We haven’t spoken since…” he began before adding, “and you know exactly why and what happened, what I woke up to. I just can’t believe someone would do that to someone.”
This particular remark set Alex off.
“Do you actually want to go there, Rich?” she asked. “Because I feel like people would have a very big opinion of a woman, being left alone to do something that involved both of us.”
They continued to argue, alluding to the final breaking point for them as a couple but never actually specifically mentioning it. When Richie made comments about trying to keep things “happy” between the two of them, Alex refuted his point.
“Yeah, because you knew you couldn’t salvage it,” she said. “You knew that after what happened, when I was left alone to go through something massive that no woman should go through…”
Richie then brought up Alex’s decision about wanting to “focus on her AFL career” which caused Alex to yell “It was me?! I actually can’t believe that you were telling me that it was me.”
“Alex, you’re a mother, I know that, clearly,” Richie said. “I spoke to you at length about that because you’ve gone down that path and you know what is involved in that. We spoke in length about that, and again, I supported you.”
The conversation eventually came to an end and the two made peace and wished each other well in paradise.
In their t0-camera pieces later, both said they were ready to move on.
“It’s good that he’s here, it’s good that I’m here because this is actually an opportunity where we could clear the air,” Alex said. “I feel like I have closure now.”
“Seeing Alex, it’s a pretty wild and crazy situation. At the end of the day, you’ve gotta move on, you obviously want the other person to be happy and it’s all I ever wanted,” Richie said.
Phew. That was… a lot.
