Prince Dead 57

Tragic news has hit the world this morning with the news that legendary musician Prince has tragically died, aged 57.

The shocking news comes after the singer was rushed to hospital on April 15 with a severe bout of flu, after taking a turn for the worse on his private jet after several weeks fighting the virus.

But the following day, the ‘Raspberry Beret’ hitmaker wanted to give fans “living proof” he was OK and made an appearance at a $10 dance party. He didn’t sing, but he did tell the crowd: “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”

Following that, he posted a plain white image to instagram which lead to fans posting tributes wishing him well. The image is now flooded with RIP messages from heartbroken fans.

The singer was found unresponsive at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota in the early hours of this morning and Carver County police have now released a statement giving more detail on what happened at his home, including that CPR was attempted but they were unable to resuscitate the singer.

The statement read:

“Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson reports that on April 21, 2016, at about 9:43 am, sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen.

When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator.

“First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 am.

“He has been identified as Prince Rogers Nelson (57) of Chanhassen.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.”

It was previously revealed officers have so far found no evidence of foul play in the passing of the singer, who was hospitalised with a bout of flu earlier this month after being taken ill on his private jet. It was also claimed that Prince had visited a pharmacy in the week before his death, with the most recent being last night.

Prince’s family have begun flying into Minnesota to support one another and plan his funeral following his shock death.
