RIP PRINCE: Tears Of Purple Rain As Musicians And Celebrities Pay Tribute To Prince
A host of stars of the music and entertainment worlds have paid respect to Prince following the tragic news of his death. Personalities to take to social media this morning to share memories and tributes included President Obama, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Justin Timberlake, Travis Barker and Ice T. The ‘Purple Rain’ singer was found dead at his home at the age of 57.
Prince made a profound impact on the world, with his creative and groundbreaking style of music and fashion. He was known for pushing the boundaries and inspiring much of todays music.
Along with all the celebs, a touching statement was given by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, who said:
“Our Grammy family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of seven-time Grammy Award winner Prince. Today, we remember and celebrate him as one of the most uniquely gifted artists of all time. Never one to conform, he redefined and forever changed our musical landscape,” he said. “Prince was an original who influenced so many, and his legacy will live on forever. We have lost a true innovator and our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends, collaborators, and all who have been impacted by his incredible work.”
