Selena Gomez Is Coming For Haters Of Her New Boyfriend In The Comments

Despite tricking us all into thinking she was in her independent woman era, dropping tracks like ‘Single Soon’ and having girls’ nights out with her bestie Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez is without a doubt in a relationship.

The singer sort of soft-launched her new boyfriend on Instagram, sharing a picture of a chin and arm of a man sitting beside her. 

But then she switched from a soft launch to a full-on social media campaign when people recognised the chin and arm and started criticising Selena on her choice of fella. 

You see, the dude in question is Benny Blanco, who is a music producer and the brains behind massive songs like ‘Diamonds’, ‘Moves Like Jagger’ and ‘Teenage Dream’. While that by no means makes him a bad guy, he did once do an interview not long after Selena Gomez launched her Rare Beauty business, ragging on “cookie-cutter pop artists” who put out a “makeup line.”

Eeep.

So when fans of Selena realised it was Benny she was getting cosy with they started leaving comments on her photos saying things like, “you’re just horny omg that man was shading you years ago”. But rather than staying silent or ignoring the feedback, Selena has been hopping online to reply. She had this response to the above comment: “lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with.” 

She’s been singing his praises in the comment section, dropping statements like he’s “better than any human being on this planet” and “he is my absolute everything in my heart”. Which makes things sound pretty serious, right?

Well, Selena confirmed in the comments that they’ve been together for a while already, replying to a fan asking how long it had been with the statement, “been six months”. 

If you’re getting a headache trying to work out the maths around that, let me tell you straight: This means that Selena released ‘Single Soon’ while she was seeing Benny Blanco. Oh, and he was the producer on the track, so he’s definitely in on the joke.
