Selena Gomez has been dethroned as the most followed person on Instagram. So who has taken her place? Kim Kardashian? Taylor Swift? Nope, Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

This week, the pro athlete overtook the pop star. Ronaldo currently sits on 144,372,148 followers while Gomez has 144,333,551 followers.

I guess people really like soccer.
