With the return of the Olympics (or at least the brrr shiver shiver freezy sports known as the ‘Winter Olympics’) we welcome the return of the #SelfieOlympics, the sport of the internet people.

In 2014, the #SelfieOlympics was heralded as the year’s first meme and now it is back with a vengeance. Clearly competitors have spent the last four years in training because there are some damn good performers out there.

The 2014 #SelfieOlympics brought the world together to see who could take the most ridiculous selfie, inundating Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with enthusiastic teens demonstrating extreme innovation. Now, it is back to unite us once again.

Basically you take a selfie, usually in the bathroom mirror, including some kind of props. The rules are vague but simple, leaving plenty of room for creative licence. So far, the competition is tight with plenty of gloriously extra entries flooding the Twittersphere.

This is officially our fave Olympic sport, plz enjoy.
