This Wild Reddit Theory Reckons Christine From ‘Selling Sunset’ Faked Her Pregnancy

Selling Sunset has returned for another messy season of expensive real estate and petty drama but one matter that’s overshadowed the whole season has been Christine Quinn’s pregnancy. Or more specifically, what Christine looked like during and after her pregnancy.

Put simply: Christine appeared the same pregnant as she did non-pregnant — with the exception of a small baby bump — and after giving birth, it looked like she bounced back to wearing crop tops and stilettos within days. Christine revealed in the latest season that she had an emergency C-section, which came as a shock to viewers as in one of the scenes after giving birth she was doing a headstand in yoga class.

Fans on Twitter immediately started to wonder: was Christine actually pregnant or did she fake her pregnancy and use a surrogate?

Selling Sunset viewers have gone one step further on Reddit, with one fan proposing their own theory about Christine’s pregnancy.”Her body did not change at all during pregnancy, except for the bump. She is known to be a pathological liar, and we have seen her do this onscreen for four seasons whenever she wants to turn the situation back into her favour,” user @bravoslut24 began.

“Then the story of her traumatic birth, but she was walking the red carpet two days later, cradling her baby bump, after nearly flatlining. I just think something’s going on here, and we should compile evidence.”

The theory went on to cast suspicion over the baby being born on May 15, yet Christine appeared on the MTV Movie Awards which aired on May 17 and later that month she hosted E! show Daily Pop. This is despite the fact Christine had an emergency C-section, which usually involves considerable recovery time, typically involving three to five days in hospital.

In Selling Sunset, Christine described the C-section as a harrowing experience, explaining that both herself and her baby’s heart rate slowed down and she even “flat-lined” at one point. “I am not a doctor, but a few have commented saying that there is no way she would be this active after an emergency C-section where she and the baby nearly died. I don’t feel that 10 days later she would be off bed rest,” the Redditor wrote.

The Reddit user was also suss that Christine never posted any pics from the hospital. “I suppose I just think it’s odd that Christine, a raging narcissist, wouldn’t have taken any photos in the hospital, at all. Or allowed any cameras to come see her while she recovered from a traumatising near death experience?”

It’s worth noting that there’s plenty of photos of Christine on her Instagram where she’s posing without clothes and you can clearly see her baby bump, like this one modelling naked for Playboy.

“I have gone through her Instagram, and her bump is always concealed where the silicone lines would be,” the Reddit user claimed.

Hmmmm, tbh I don’t see any way how this could be faked.

In the days since Selling Sunset dropped, Christine has clarified that the yoga scene was actually filmed while Christine was still pregnant — not following her C-section. Along with this, she claimed that several of the scenes were filmed weeks after she gave birth, which explains how Christine appears to be fully recovered.

While it doesn’t look like Christine faked her pregnancy, most critics are still unhappy with how the reality show set unrealistic standards for women’s bodies during and after pregnancy. “I just think it’s damaging to perpetuate unachievable beauty standards, particularly around pregnancy,” the Reddit post read. “The entire season, the whole ‘you look AMAZING! did you really have a baby?’ every episode was exhausting.”

Other commenters agreed with the post, as @chally13 wrote “I’m currently 39 weeks and can’t wear my wedding rings. My face is completely unrecognisable. I feel terrible. And what’s worse is her ‘bounce back’. Makes me depressed wondering how I’m going to lose all this weight and look like myself again when she’s prancing around in crop tops and 6inch heels!!!” While @embarrassedcows added, “I’m 10 weeks pp[postpartum] and it took two weeks for my feet to go back to normal so I could actually wear real shoes.”

Not everyone was convinced with the theory though, with some writing that women’s bodies differ in how they look when pregnant. “I have seen tiny framed women get only a baby bump and that’s it,” @1cecream4breakfast wrote. “I actually met someone when she was several months pregnant and she said a lot of people said it just looked like she swallowed a basketball lol. I don’t think Christine staying skinny is compelling evidence.”

If only Selling Sunset would show Maya’s pregnancy journey, as we suspect it would be a lot less glamourised than Christine’s.
