Olympic Champ & Absolute Star Shane Gould Just Won ‘Survivor’ & Fans Are Hyped
She didn’t come to play, she came to win, and win SHE BLOODY DID. Tonight on the finale of Survivor, swimming legend Shane Gould was crowned the winner.
Sharing the top three with barrister Sharn Coombes and ex-footballer Brian Lake, in the end it was the jury that voted for the Olympian over Sharn, with the tiniest margins of only one vote.
The time has arrived. OUR QUEEN SHANE TO TAKE OUT SURVIVOR 2018! @Survivor_AU @GameOnMolesAU #SurvivorAU pic.twitter.com/2wWP9VgqLv

It all came down to loyalty, and the jury elected Shane as the more honest and trustworthy person, compared to her competition.
Shane’s journey on the show has been impressive to say the least. Many expected her to be gone ages ago (guilty!), as she was often unable to complete challenges early on in the series and was even considered a “liability” to her tribe. But her social game has been phenomenal to watch, as she’s weaved her way into multiple alliances and gradually worked her way to the top.
Shane is actually the oldest person to win any season of Survivor...ever! She’s a 61-year-old badass and we couldn’t be more proud of our 2018 winner.
Fans are hyped AF that Shane took the crown:
Shane has been consistently underestimated throughout the game. What a legend #SurvivorAU

So sooo happy that Shane won. She is a national hero. Just goes to show, it’s not always about how fit, fast, smart, young or predictably good you are. Lessons learnt: Hang in there, learn, adapt and back yourself. #SurvivorAU
