Rosie From ‘Sophia Grace And Rosie’ Is Getting Trolled For Failing Her School Exams

Two tiny lasses in tutus, singing and dancing to Nicki Minaj’s ‘Superbass’, captured the attention of the entire world for a moment. They went viral on every platform and then performed on Ellen and went viral all over again.

The girls at the centre of it all were five and eight years old at the time  – and their names were Sophia Grace and Rosie.

The younger half of the duo, Rosie, was definitely the quieter of the two – working her role as ‘hype girl’ and backing dancer to her buddy Sophia Grace, who hogged the microphone and sang her socks off.

Now, fast-forwarding 12 years since, the girls are living their lives in the UK. Sophia Grace is 20 now and became a mum at the start of the year to her baby boy, River. Rosie is 17 years old and is right in the thick of her school exams – which leads me to my next point…

Rosie has gotten fairly famous on TikTok, gathering 2.4 million followers through her GWRM videos and singing clips, and she’s been sharing her GCSE journey with her fans. (Quick translation for those not familiar with the British school system: GCSEs are the public exams that everyone takes when they are in year 10, usually when they’re around 16 years old.)

Rosie made some jokes on TikTok about slacking off on revision and finding maths, in particular, a little hard. But GCSE results dropped this week, and Rosie found out that she had failed a few subjects – including maths, science and business.

Fans have been stitching her joking about her exams with her results, mocking her failures in a pretty brutal way. And now Rosie has shared a video talking about how these have made her feel.

“Literally everyone has seen the edits that have been made about me. My mates think it’s funny, obviously, all of you think it’s funny, and I’ve been laughing along, but actually, it’s not funny at all.”

“Already I’ve been going through a hard time with failing my exams. Not only have all my friends passed their exams and I’ve failed, but now I’ve got all of you – millions of you – laughing at me failing.”

Rosie defended herself by saying that she did actually try to not fail, but she doesn’t feel like she’s particularly academic.

“At the end of the day, I tried my best on my exams. Obviously, I could have done better, but I’m not really academic,” she said before saying she could have lied about her results.

“I could have lied to you guys and said I got all eights and nines in my exams, but I’m a real person I’ve told you what’s happened. Because I know loads of you out there who have failed some of your exams, and I wanted to be there for you,” Rosie said. “And now you’ve taken that information, twisted it around and put hate on it.”

“It’s really hurting my feelings. It’s making me feel like an idiot.”

I don’t know about you guys, but trashing a 17-year-old for failing some of her school exams seems like a particularly low blow. Internet, be nicer please.
