Just as we thought 2016 was going to finally pass without another blow, reality TV sweet-hearts Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek have confirmed the end of their whirlwind TV romance. Yes, LOVE IS WELL AND TRULY DEAD. DONE. OVER.
It’s a kick in the heart for all those that followed the couple get totally swept up in each other on the debut season of Network Ten’s, Bachelorette Australia Season 1 in 2015. The pair were together for 18 months before pulling up stumps.
Following weeks of speculation, the news was announced to their family and friends over the past week, with Sasha officially breaking the news on Instagram before lunch today. An officially statement was made via management later today stressing, “there is no bitterness or scandal, they have just come to the realisation that the best way forward is to separate”.
Because we’re totally heart broken and slightly obsessed, we couldn’t help but indulge ourselves in looking back at all we know about the lead-up to their split.
Rumours surrounding their breakup have been circulating for months now
Back on October 4, New Idea reported the news that both Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek had unfollowed each other on Instagram. During this time, the couple began spending less time together, posted fewer social media pics and attended events separately.
On the back of the speculation, New Idea fuelled rumours that their romance was over, causing Frost to defend herself through a Facebook rant which was later deleted. Although it’s unclear if the couple were winding things back or had some time apart as early as this, fans were stressing that there could be trouble in paradise.
The Couple Are Believed To Have Officially Ended Things At The Start Of December
It’s understood the couple officially split sometime around the start of December, with their last public couple photo shared by Frost one month ago. Photos in the lead-up to this pic were few and far between.

Meanwhile, Sasha’s last couple pic came 2 months ago as he and Frosty shared a selfie moment on the beach.
It’s believed the pair told close friends and family about their decision in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
It’s Likely That Geographic Distance Was The Main Factor Things Didn’t Work Out
Sam is now based in Sydney working gruelling hours as the co-host of the Rove & Sam show on 2DayFM. Meanwhile, Sasha lives and works in Huskisson on the NSW South Coast, making time together hard.
Split rumours in the past have stemmed from their couples distance, while a message announcing the split posted by Sasha cited the issue saying: “it is important to stress that there is no bitterness or scandal however the distance has been challenging at times.”
Sam Frost’s Christmas Day Post Makes A Whole Heap More Sense Now
Frosty shared this photo to Instagram on Christmas day, sending ‘good vibes, love, light & happiness” to all her fans. The caption read, “Christmas isn’t always sunshine and rainbows for everyone”.
While the cute message was heartwarming out of context, it seems now takes on new meaning now:
Sasha Was The First To Publicly Break The News On Instagram, Stressing They Are Still Great Friends
Sasha posted this photo just after mid-day today. The photo came with the caption:
“After 18 months together, I can confirm that Sam and myself have come to a mutual decision to part ways. I respect Sam wholeheartedly and cherish our new found friendship. It is important to stress that there is no bitterness or scandal however the distance has been challenging at times. This is a very difficult time for the two of us and to be honest I’m absolutely heartbroken!
Sammy, I think you are absolutely amazing, beautiful in every way and I wish you all the best in the future. I will be listening to your fantastic radio show and look forward to you killing the ratings in 2017.

The News Was Later Confirmed By Management, Further Stating That The Breakup Is A “Mutual Decision”
Georgina Harrop from IMG management told News Corp Australia this morning:
“After 18 months together, Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek have come to a mutual decision to end their relationship.
It is important to stress that there is no bitterness or scandal, they have just come to the realisation that the best way forward is to separate.”
“They wholeheartedly respect and cherish the friendship they have for one another which will continue moving forward.
“They wish to thank everyone for their love and support over the past 18 months.”
Sashsha is Rumoured To Be Moving On Quickly
Paparazzi Pics of Sasha with a “mystery” woman on the Gold Coast were shared online over the Christmas weekend while he spent time on holidays with family. The images fuelled rumours of that he and Sam had split.
That being said, some outlets believe the woman pictured may have been a relative to the Mielczarek.
