The meme was first born when Twitter user @DIXIENORMOUS posted a new profile picture with SpongeBob decked out in French fashion. Très chic!

Other versions began popping up after Twitter user @afadisborn posted the original picture of SpongeBob awkwardly dressed in drag on SpongeBob SquarePants.
