What an average episode of The Bachelor. We were promised drama as the fam came to visit, when it was all super civil and no one even had a screaming match or broke a tooth. Boooore-ring!

Four gals were picked for a group date, with on member from their fams invited along for the free lunch. In a cook-off not seen since MasterChef, each family had to make a dish to win over their man.

Jen was on the date because she’s the only contestant who drives any form of narrative and remotely dramatic content, so she obvs dominated the entire thing.

With her mum as her wingman, Jen kept harping on about the elusive ‘friend-zone’ that she thinks Matty has quarantined her inside.

As the gals competed for some solo time with Matty, Jen thought she had it in the bag because she was the best cook (her opinion). Jen, legit question: what show do you think you’re on?!?

Anyways, Elise was granted the solo time with Matty and she was thrilled.

‘I so happy! Here’s all my teeth!!’

Jen was fuming. Blocking her teeth with her tongue.

NOT HAPPY JEN.

Jen said she knows she’s “the best cook in the house,” therefore she deserved a solo date more than any one else. Again, gurl, wrong show. You could be bloody Betty Crocker and that wouldn’t lock you in for solo time.

But she wouldn’t let up. To prove her worthiness to Matty, Jen made him a dessert treat to feast on at the cocktail party. She legit thinks she’s the next Maggie Beer.

‘Matt Preston ain’t shit, m8!’

“I want to know if I’ve been friend-zoned,” Jen announces before presenting Matty with a smorgasbord of sweets.

Upon sampling her culinary efforts, his face says it all.

‘Urghhhhh’

‘Glerghhhhhhh’

‘Ewwwwwww’

He lies and says the desserts taste incredible. To this Jen responds, “It’s probably as incredible as I am,” because, well of course she says that – she’s Jen.

She then attempts to vacate the friend-zone (enough with this garbage concept??) by giving our bachy ‘tude about not paying enough attention to her. He pretty much says she’s an over-confident cocky monster. She takes this as a compliment.

Despite Matty’s efforts to encourage Jen to be normal/nice, you know, human person, in the end she doesn’t learn much. Even worse, she’s rewarded with a rose and cop lady Michelle that got zilch time was sent home. Bad bachy!
