Stella McCartney Is Launching A Menswear Range
Stella McCartney will venture in the realm of mens design and launch her spring/summer 2017 season in June.
You know legendary women’s fashion guru Stella McCarney – yeah? Now she’s launching her own menswear range and it will be ready for the shelves in June 2017.
The 44-year-old designer – who last month debuted her pre-fall 2016 collection in Los Angeles with the likes if Gwyneth Paltrow, Johnny Depp and Katy Perry watching from the front row – is keen to expand her talents by creating a collection for the opposite sex in time for the UK spring/summer 2017 season.
However, it won’t be an unfamiliar voyage for the daughter of the Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, first learning her trade while working as an understudy to the acclaimed men’s designer Edward Sexton at Savile Row.
In 1997, McCartney became creative director at Chloé but in 2001 started her women’s eponymous fashion brand, which she has built-up over the past 15 years.
Stella’s personal sense of style is distinctly androgynous, and she is known for being partial to a black trouser suit.
The south-London born clothes maker has also ventured into the realm of sportswear – having dressed the British Olympic team in 2012, and will reprise her role in conjunction with Adidas for the Rio games which will kick off later this year.
Stella also brought out her first children’s wear collection in 2010 and has released a new range every season since.
