Say Ahoy To This Excessively Eighties Teaser For ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3
Stranger Things is a huge show, its blend of sci-fi and horror and eighties nostalgia proving irresistible to its horde of devoted fans. And in the lead up to the hotly anticipated third season, they’ve released a cute little teaser.
In the clip, they’ve skipped on the sci-fi and horror and leaned entirely back into the eighties, and the result is magnificent. We’re introduced to the new mall in Hawkins, Indiana, the Starcourt shopping centre.
Honestly, as far as clues for the new season, it looks like that’s all we’ve got — it’s going to spend some time in the mall? I guess food courts are pretty terrifying.
We also get some face time with everybody’s favourite boyfriend Steve Harrington, who is wearing a delightful sailor-style uniform and working in an ice-cream parlour. He’s joined by new cast-member Maya Hawke, who will play Robin in the third season.
Watch it here, enjoy the neon.

The mall is set to open “next summer”, which some believe is a hint that we won’t get Stranger Things season 3 until 2019. Boo.
Meanwhile, people are just excited to head to the mall.
But wait! @avery__thompson just pointed out that the very end, the video says: “starcourt mall, coming next summer” — DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SUMMER 2019 FOR S3 @Stranger_Things ??? pic.twitter.com/IB0UAHbUH9

I hope the natural reaction to that Stranger Things trailer was to tear up because I miss the old school mall experience.
