Taylor Swift Just Released Her New Track ‘Call It What You Want’ And It Sounds Like The Old Taylor
Taylor Swift just dropped yet another single from her upcoming album Reputation and tbh ‘Call It What You Want’ sounds eerily like The Old Taylor! Maybe she ain’t dead after all.
The new song kind’a sounds like it’s straight off of the 1989 album and that’s the content we are here for. She’s singing about how happy she is being smitten with her new boo and it sounds like she doesn’t really care about much else right now.
It’s a nice change after she dished up some more Dark Taylor content last week, with the release of the Blade Runner-esque music video for ‘Ready For It…?’ Taylor also released her last track ‘Gorgeous’ just two weeks ago, and we kinda sorta liked it (?). The new singles are a total mixed bag, weaving different styles and it’s definitely keeping us on our toes.
In terms of their Aussie reception, ‘LWYMMD’ held the #1 spot in Australia for two weeks, while ‘Gorgeous’ peaked at #9 on the ARIA charts. Meanwhile, ‘Ready For It..?’ peaked at #3. It’s fair to say that with these results, the new tracks haven’t exactly been hitting it out of the park with the Aussie audience.
Now that we are four singles, and two music videos deep, we are pretty damn ready to just hear this whole Reputation album already. There are only seven more days left to wait.
This track gives us hope that maybe there will be some more Old Taylor tracks in the years to come. Taylor Swift’s new album, Reputation, is due out on November 10.
