BAD BLOOD: Your Comprehensive Running Tally Of Taylor Swift’s Darkest Enemies
Even before the infamous #KimExposedTaylorParty incident, Taylor Swift was already accumulating a helluva lot of enemies.
Between the Kimmy K drama, and an artist in Melbourne announcing her death via a laneway mural, it seems if you ain’t in Swift’s squad, you’re probably on this list.
Here’s a running tally of Taylor Swift’s enemies:
Kim Kardashian
There’s no surprise that Kim is Swift’s enemy number one after the Kardashian called her a snake and exposed her as a liar by releasing the recording of Tay seemingly agreeing to West’s lyrics. Swift would go on to say in an Instagram post that she accused Kim of “character assassination”.
Kanye West
Again, no surprise here. West and Swift have long had a tumultuous relationship, ever since the whole “I’mma let you finish” moment at the 2009 VMAs. The two seemed to have patched things up, until West released ‘Famous’ which featured the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous”.
Tay was offended by the lyrics and made this known to the world in her 2016 Grammy Awards speech. West argued that the song was approved by the singer. The rest is history.
Calvin Harris
Most ex’s are ex’s for a reason, but there is extra dirt with Talvin, as not only did Swift bounce back suspiciously quick with new BF Tom Hiddleston, but her PR team revealed that one of Harris’s most recent hit’s ‘This Is What You Came For’ was in fact written by Swift. Harris later claimed on Twitter this was to “try and make me [Harris] look bad” and tear him down.
Katy Perry
This feud seemingly came out of nowhere. It first was hinted at in an interview Swift had with Rolling Stone magazine, where she was describing her motivation behind her ‘Bad Blood’ single. She said describing the subject of the song: “She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies’. And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business.” This was immediately linked to a dispute over a dancer between Perry and Swift.
John Mayer
John Mayer dated Swift from November 2009 to February 2010, and she would eventually go on to write about him in the lyrics for ‘Dear John’. Mayer told Rolling Stone magazine that he was “really humiliated” when he heard the song adding “I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.” Mayer also seriously dated Katy Perry for years, so there plenty of animosity between the trio.
Khloe Kardashian
This isn’t exactly news, but Khloe has been very vocal in support of Kanye and Kim. She tweeted encouragement for Kim’s Snapchat and started a pretty vicious and NSFW fight with Chloe Grace Moretz after she tweeted a statement referring to the drama.
Harry Styles
Swift dated 1D’s Harry Styles from December 2012 to January 2013. Swift is rumoured to have penned three songs about him, and his infidelity, including mega-hit ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’. Swift gifted us with the best gif EVER after Styles appeared on stage with his bandmates at the VMAs, and Tay can be clearly seen mouthing the words: “Shut the fuck up!”, sending ‘Directioners’ into a fury of angst towards her.
Demi Lovato
While the two were once BFF’s, Demi blew the lid on their falling out in February, when she alluded on Twitter that Taylor took the easy approach to helping Kesha fight Dr. Luke. Taylor gave Kesha $250,000 and Demi clapped back: “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed.” Since Kim released the video, Lovato has been seen on Twitter liking tweets in support of the Kardashian. Shady lady.
Kendall Jenner
While Kendall’s BFF’s Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss might be squad members, she has definitely made known where her loyalties lie. She liked Kim’s “do u guys follow me on snap chat? u really should ;)” tweet, which led to the video of the recorded convo. She also liked a tweet from Khloe Kardashian that said: “Kim is a savage! Don’t f*** with her man hunni”.
Joe Jonas
Joe Jonas and Swift dated between July and October 2008, but the relationship notoriously ended when he made a 27-second phone call to dump her so he could date another woman, which turned out to be actress Camilla Belle. Awks.
Camilla Belle
Since Tay was dumped for Belle, it is suspected that she wrote song ‘Better Than Revenge’ about the split, and possibly directed the lyrics at Belle: “She’s not a saint. And she’s not what you think. She’s an actress. She’s better known. For the things that she does. On the mattress.” Since Taylor’s recent drama Camilla tweeted: “No need for revenge. Just sit back & wait. Those who hurt you will eventually screw up themselves.” Enough said.
Jake Gyllenhaal
The pair dated between October and December 2010, but it didn’t end well with Gyllenhaal reportedly dumping her by text just before Christmas. Their breakup was rumoured to inspire the song ‘We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together’.
