‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ Is Being Rebooted On Netflix & The Nostalgia Is So Real

The Baby-Sitters Club is the latest childhood relic to get new life, with the books being adapted into a Netflix series and it actually sounds sooo good.

The adaptation of Ann M. Martin’s best-selling book series will consist of 10 episodes and will continue to follow the friendship of five best friends (and baby-sitters) in Stoneybrook.

What’s even more exciting is that the team on board are excellent. Michael De Luca will executive produce with Lucy Kitada and Broad City’s Lucia Aniello, with GLOW’s Rachel Shukert coming on as showrunner.

The Netflix series follows the 1995 thoroughly underrated movie, and vice president of Netflix’s Kids & Family section Melissa Cobb reckons the show will thrive in today’s social climate.

“The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs,” said Melissa.

“Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporize the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues.”

I’ll definitely be tuning in for the nostalgia factor alone. There’s no news yet on who will be cast to step into the shoes of the OG five Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer.
