It’s Time To Delete Tinder Because ‘The Bachelor’ Is Now Casting
No question about it, I am ready to get hurt again. Despite some of the lowest ratings on record in 2021, The Bachelor will return this year — and casting is now open.
Both Jimmy Nicholson and Brooke Blurton’s seasons failed to lure in fans last year, with the winner announcements only drawing in 629k and 439k viewers, respectively. This is a stark departure from the numbers Bachy finales have garnered in previous years, with ratings typically surpassing one million viewers.
However, Network 10 are hopeful for next season. “I’m very, very excited about our plans for this season,” Caroline Swift, Warner Bros. Australia Head of Entertainment told TV Tonight. She went on to suggest that the new season will break new ground and promised some changes. “It’s gonna be big. We’re taking some big swings,” she teased.
This year’s season will be filmed on the sunny Gold Coast instead of Sydney.
And now our hostess with the mostest, Osher Günsberg, has posted a callout for The Bachelor contestants. If you’ve always longed for the life of an influencer, have grown tired of Tinder, or just really like the taste of YouFoodz, now is your chance!
The casting callout reads:
“Are you searching for that special someone but just can’t seem to find them?
Well this could be the beginning of your very own love story!
We are looking for:
Single Women and Men between the ages of 21-50. You must be willing and available to be filmed for the duration of the series. Filming will roughly commence May-July of 2022 and may take up to 12 weeks.”
Now before readers freak out (as we do most years) that the ad is looking for “women and men”, which could suggest The Bachelor will be bisexual or pansexual, the callout is likely also open to finding the man taking up the titular position of Bachy. So settle down!
While rumours have been circulating that both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will be filmed together in the mansion, according to the casting page only auditions for The Bachelor are currently open.
This could suggest that either The Bachelor will be filmed solo, or there will no season of The Bachelorette this year.
