On tonight’s The Bachelor, reality hit hard after Osher told the contestants and Locky that the show had to be shut down and everyone sent home because of the escalating coronavirus pandemic.

“I have to tell you something really important. This virus, this pandemic, is really serious,” Osher told Locky after the rose ceremony tonight. “The number of people infected is doubling every three to four days, it’s getting pretty serious. Everything is really just locking down to keep people safe.”

The host then told our Bachy that the whole production had to be shut down. “I guess what I’m trying to tell you is that it’s kind of now impossible for us to keep everybody here safe. We have to stop production. We can’t keep everybody safe. Never before in my career have I faced anything like this.”

Osher then shared the news with all the ladies — in a conversation that was muted — before Locky came in to comfort them all and say goodbye.

The entire sequence was very dramatic and the scene was dragged out to an edge of its life. While this is a serious situation, this has been our reality for months and Aussie viewers couldn’t help but make fun of the entire announcement.

Bachy fans are taking the piss out of the whole thing:

Sending our thoughts and prayers to Osher for having to drop the news.
