Surprise, surprise! Tonight was another double episode of The Bachelor. It’s almost as if Channel 10 are trying to rush through the entire season which has plummeted in ratings, in an attempt to get to the comparatively popular The Masked Singer? But who knows! It’s a mystery.

Tonight’s episode saw two dramatic exits: first from Steph who left after a tense exchange with Jimmy, then from Tahnee who didn’t get a rose after a tense exchange with Jay. Everyone is so tense! Someone who is not tense is Holly, who scored the first second date in the first half of tonight’s first episode. Yes, I even confused myself with that sentence.

They were sent to swim in some freezing cold river, and Jimmy relieved Holly’s possible hypothermia with a rose…which is a bit of a shit way to keep warm, Jimbo!

On the group date, the women met Jimmy’s (or should I say “James'”) mum, Susan, who took a disliking to Steph after she spoke highly of her ex-partner, which led to Steph getting marching orders at the cocktail party later that night. But there’s someone new on Jimmy’s hit-list: while questioning Tahnee about Steph he learnt that she overheard Jay make a comment that she hoped she was runner-up — instead of Jimmy’s winner — because they tend to become more successful.

This all came out on a group camping trip, with Jimmy telling Jay what was said, Jay denying it, and then confronting Tahnee at the cocktail party. Tears were shed all round — including my own. (Seriously, all these double episodes are testing my emotional limits!)

Let’s recap the whole (painfully long) episode through Twitter’s best lols, OK? OK!

Tonight’s The Bachelor retold via hilarious tweets:

Another week of The Bachelor rubbish! Holly got a second date, getting the chance to swim in a freezing river with Jimmy and almost catch hypothermia. Romantic! They find their spark again and Jimmy awarded Holly with a rose.

The ladies headed to a group date to meet Jimmy’s mum, Susan. Holly told Susan she doesn’t think Steph and Jimmy are a good match. When it’s Steph’s turn, she can’t stop going on about how great her ex was. Susan isn’t convinced that Steph is over her ex, which she later relayed to Jimmy.

Carlie impressed Susan the most, so she got some extra time with Jimbo. She shared what her family would want for her relationship, earning herself a kiss and a rose.

At the cocktail party, Jimmy questioned Lily about Steph and her ex, and she revealed Steph had made a comment that she might go back to her ex. Tahnee agreed with Jimmy’s mum’s concerns and also added that she heard Jay say she wanted to be runner-up “because they do better”.

After a tense chat, Steph left in spectacular style — saying in the limo that her ex is better than Jimmy. Savage.

But wait, there’s more! Another episode! This time the women are headed into the bush for some camping. Yee-haw! A relationship and body language expert got the women to leave a “scent mark” on Jimmy, before they all engaged in two minutes of eye contact with him. No thanks!

Things feel awks between Jimmy and Jay, especially as Jay has found out Tahnee is spreading rumours about her. Around the campfire, they play ‘Never Have I Ever’ and Jimmy made a comment suggesting a contestant is bullshitting him, while Jay submitted that she has never made up a rumour that wasn’t true. Drama!

The next morning, Jimmy pulled Jay aside for a horse riding date. He then told her what Tahnee said and Jay denied it.

At the bush cocktail party, Jay returned sans rose and confronted Tahnee, despite Jimmy advising her against it. Tahnee maintained that she heard her say the runner-up comment when they were both getting their makeup done, but Jay claimed Tahnee is a liar.

At the rose ceremony, Jay and Tahnee are pitted against each other, but Jay gets the final rose. Tahnee ain’t happy.
