Our New Bachelorette Has Been Announced & It’s About Bloody Time
We’ve been waiting, wishing, and hoping for the announcement of the 2021 Bachelorette and in the early hours of this morning the announcement was made! We couldn’t be more stoked.
You may know our new Bachelorette from previous seasons of the franchise: she walked away from the Honey Badger and left him devastated, while failing to find love with American Alex and Alex Nation on Bachelor In Paradise.
I am, of course, talking about Brooke Blurton.
Not only will Brooke be the first Indigenous woman cast as The Bachelorette, the show will also get an overhaul from the usual format we’re used to, casting both women and men for Brooke to date. Finally, Bachy fans’ cries for diversity have been answered!

In a statement to Channel 10, Brooke said: “I am so ready for this. I’ve done it twice before and now, having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience. My perfect person is someone that loves me for me. I hope they offer shared values and compassion for others. I’m so excited and hope that I finally find that person I’ve been waiting for.”
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Brooke said she wouldn’t have it “any other way” when it came to having diverse casting. “If it makes people feel uncomfortable in any way, I really challenge them to think about why it does,” Brooke stated. “Times are more progressive and sexuality and gender expression are just so fluid these days. I am not too sure if Australia is ready for it. I hope they are. I certainly am.”
Rumour has it the show is still casting so ladies and gentlemen, what are you bloody waiting for? Apply by following this link!
