‘The Bachelorette’ Premiere Retold Via Hilarious Tweets

Brooke Blurton’s The Bachelorette kicked off tonight and if the premiere is anything to go by — we’re in for one hell of a season.

The first episode was emotional to say the least. The night began with a Welcome to Country ceremony as Brooke arrived at the mansion. Osher Günsberg then spoke with Brooke about what a huge achievement her season will be in terms of representation, as Australia’s first Indigenous Bachelorette and the world’s first bisexual person to lead the franchise. “I’m so excited for all those little 10-year-old Brookes who will feel represented and feel proud to be who they are with no judgement,” she told Osher.

Then it was time for Brooke’s 16 suitors to file in! And oh boy, they’ve found some goodies. There were sparks flying between Brooke and Carissa, Darvid, and Holly, while the chemistry between Brooke and Bachelor returnee Jamie-Lee was undeniable. They even had a secret pash, which is a rare thing to happen on night one — proving that already Brooke’s season is a refreshing change of pace. It’s all about love stories this season and it’s so wholesome.

But that doesn’t mean there was no drama. Brooke was put off by photographer Beau, after he made some crass remark about keeping the photos he captured of her for his “personal collection”. Yuck! Then Jess committed the ultimate betrayal: she dared to take Brooke to sit on a ‘love seat’ that carpenter Konrad had assembled with Brooke. The cheek, the nerve, the gall, the audacity, and the gumption!

Let’s jump into the best tweets from tonight as there’s A LOT to go through.

Tonight’s The Bachelorette premiere retold in hilarious tweets:

It’s Brooke time! The night begins with a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony, before Osher praises Brooke for her world-first season. I’m crying. Brooke is crying. We are all crying.

Holly arrives and slow dances with Brooke, they seem like a gorgeous match. As do Brooke and (Persian Prince) Darvid, who rolls up on a lawn mower. They share a cup of tea and bond over having a mutual appreciation of their different cultures.

Photographer Beau is err… something! He takes photos of Brooke then makes gross remarks. Carissa arrives to present Brooke with a painting she did of a rainbow turtle — she has an affinity with rainbows as they remind her of her mother who passed away. Brooke reveals she saw a rainbow that day, and turtles are her totem animal. Soul mates? I think so!

Konrad the carpenter waltzes in carrying timber to assemble a seat with Brooke. A bunch of other quirky contestants arrive — including Matt who attempts to rap, and Emily who brings a small horse… I don’t know why!

The Bachelor’s Jamie-Lee surprises Brooke on the red carpet, she reads her the letter she left for her in the mansion. They speak about how they both were hesitant to mess with their friendship, but agree there’s something more between them. It’s a beautiful moment.

Brooke arrives at the cocktail party and immediately the women hustle to speak to her first, while the men stood around awkwardly.

Konrad sets up his love seat with Taje’s help, but just as he’s about to grab Brooke, Jess swoops in and takes her to Konrad’s love seat instead. Shots fired!

Jamie-Lee steals some time with Brooke and manages to get a first night kiss.

Darvid is awarded the first impression rose, which means he scores the first date. At the rose ceremony, Johann is sent home. I think he was one of the bartenders, who knows?
