The Girl Who Pushed Over The Policeman At The Melbourne Cup Has Been Fined

THE girl who shoved a policeman head over biscuit at the Melbourne Cup has copped a fine and been ordered to pay for the policeman’s sunnies.

Appearing in the Magistrates Court today, 24 year old, Sarah Finn pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a police officer and wilful damage on November 3. She received an $800 fine and also has to foot the repair bill for the cop’s sunnies ($150).

The incident occurred when acting Superintendent Steven Cooper was preparing to report on crowd behaviour at Flemington on Cup Day. Finn pushed Cooper into the flower bed and the awaiting media scrum captured it (after they’d apparently told her to do it).
