The Dick Pic That Slipped Its Way In To The University of Queensland’s Latest Ad Campaign
The University of Queensland have had to shaft their recent advertising campaign after their ad agency accidentally let a dick and balls sketch slip in to the background of their new poster.
We suspect that the cock-up was likely an in-house gag between colleagues at Brisbane’s Clemenger BBDO agency, but managed to sneak its way through the approval process. The gag was forgotten about, people moved on with their business, the campaign went to print and posters plastered around the city without anyone noticing. The agency should have known the dangers of playing ‘hide the sausage’ with their target audience.
It wasn’t until someone waiting for a bus had enough time on their hands to examine the small icons in more detail and noticed something NQR. mUmBRELLA reports that a student posted this image to the university Facebook page where it was met with great fanfare.
Within days of the posters going up in September, students across the campus started their own ‘Where’s Wally’ hunt, finding the dick and sharing the pics on social media before the campaign was swiftly taken down by the University.
This image from the Daily Mail clearly shows where it can be found:
It’s still not known who is responsible for the prank or whether they still have a job, but the stunt has left the agency and the University looking like a right…well you know.
The agency hasn’t commented on how the poster got through the screening process but one can assume that if the poster was shown to a group of teenagers the mistake would have been picked up right away.
