Is This The Cast Of ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3?
The White Lotus was amongst the flurry of TV shows and films flung into limbo during both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike this year. This meant the show has been quite heavily delayed, but fans can expect it to hit screens in 2025. PHEW.
There’s a bunch of rumoured cast that are returning (sadly, it doesn’t look like Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid will return from the dead), and you can get a feel for what the new series will be like from the casting calls. Creator and writer Mike White is currently casting for 13 roles, ranging from age 18 to 80. Nine of the roles will be series regulars, and descriptions include: a corporate executive, an actress, a misfit, a yogi, a patriarch and a couple of mothers.
It’s been a badly kept secret that Season 3’s The White Lotus will be set in Thailand, which opens the door to so many intriguing storylines. The creator previously said that Season 3 will explore “death in Eastern religion and spirituality” and he’s hoping to start filming “at the beginning of [2024]”.
Mike has been busy finishing off the Season 3 scripts, telling Deadline that it’s going to be a “supersized” version of The White Lotus, which is music to my ears. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing… I’m super excited about the content of the season.”
Which cast members will be returning for The White Lotus Season 3?
Natasha Rothwell
Natasha Rothwell, who played Hawaiian resort spa manager Belinda Lindsey in Season 1 is confirmed to be returning. She shared a tweet sharing an article about her rumoured return, saying: “Belinda is back baby!!!”. The Emmy-nominated star has since nabbed roles in Wish, Wonka and How to Die Alone.
Connie Britton
Connie Britton, who played Nicole Mossbacher in Season 1, is also rumoured to be returning. Apparently, Mike White wanted to bring her back for Season 2, but since that didn’t happen, there’s a chance we can see it for Season 3.
“He wanted me to be in the second season, and there was an idea that I loved for the character,” she told Deadline. “Our intention is to do it in the third season. A piece of casting didn’t work in the second season… I would love to see a spin-off on every character in that show.”
She recently spoke to Variety, saying at the time she hadn’t been asked back, but would jump if Mike asked. “I have loved collaborating with him and I’ll say yes to him ‘till the end of time.”
Michael Imperioli
Michael Imperioli played Dominic Di Grasso in Season 2, and the actor has been vocal about his wish to return to the show. Michael played a Hollywood producer whose sex addiction caused issues with his estranged wife, played by Laura Dern.
“Who knows, maybe there’ll be another White Lotus season where Dominic comes with his wife and they patch it all up! I don’t want to think about it too much, because the idea of that makes me so happy,” he told Esquire. “I would want nothing more than that. I just loved working with Mike so much.”
Jon Gries
Jon Gries played Greg Hunt in Season 1 and 2, with his character pretending to be in love with Tanya McQuoid. After her dramatic death, he ended up with Tanya’s entire fortune. Mike White previously hinted that Greg may not get off scot-free.
“I think as far as like, what happens to Greg and the conspiracy of Tanya’s death, it’s possible that I think Portia (Tanya’s assistant) is scared enough to just leave it alone,” he said. “But the fact that all of those guys die on the boat, it feels like there’s gotta be somebody who’s gonna track it back down to Greg.”
Which new cast members will be joining The White Lotus Season 3?
Harry Styles
The latest rumour floating around is that Harry Styles has been getting ready to start filming. The singer basically broke the internet when he debuted his fresh buzzcut this month, with fans unable to focus on anything else. Gossip page DeuxMoi then shared a blind item, where a source claimed a male A-list singer (Harry, obv), would be appearing on The White Lotus. “Harry. Maybe why he shaved his head?” one fan mused. “I bet it’s Harry Styles,” another added.
As much as I would love to see Hazza in the White Lotus world, he has just shot the rumour down. When approached by HuffPost UK, his team confirmed that Harry isn’t part of The White Lotus Season 3. But hey – Mike White is still writing the scripts – so if he sees all this buzz around the rumour, maybe, just maybe, there’s still a glimmer of hope.
Danny DeVito
Hollywood royalty and funnyman Danny DeVito would slot into The White Lotus universe easily. Fans went wild when the star was snapped having dinner with Mike White recently, with theories floating around about his possible addition to The White Lotus Season 3.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston hasn’t been seen with Mike White, but she’s campaigning for a role on the show. The Friends star said that she’d be keen to play Tanya’s sister who comes back to avenge Tanya’s death. “Do you hear it Mike White? We did The Good Girl together. I am obsessed with [The White Lotus],” she told E! News.
Bette Midler
Screen icon Bette Midler is also desperate to appear on the show. “Oh, please! Of course [I want a role]. In a New York minute,” she told Variety. “Mike White pokes fun at the worst kind of people, the truly entitled and rich people behaving badly. Everybody likes to see them get their comeuppance. I really enjoy that. It’s the great saga of the haves and the have-nots, which is eternal.”
Jamie Lee Curtis
The original final girl Jamie Lee Curtis was Haley Lu Richardson’s pick for Season 3, and she’s totally on board. On the red carpet for the SAG Awards, the Everything Everywhere All at Once star said she’d never seen the show, but the promise of filming in a luxurious location swayed her. “Yes! I don’t even know what it is, but I will do it.”
