TheVine Bachelorette Recap – Episode 6
Scroll below for our video episode recap
After miraculously pulling two date cards out of his arse, Andy G sends the boys on a group date to the circus grounds to play carnival games. Davey is hanging by a thread at this stage and tells himself he’ll use this opportunity to show Sam how mature he can be. Like a toddler, he changes his mind soon after and decides that the circus is the perfect place to act like a clown and win over his lady. How very wrong he is.
While this kind of loveable larrikinism might appeal to some ladies, Sam really isn’t vibing on it one bit and celebrates each of Davey’s wins with an obviously faked sense of enthusiasm. Everyone’s hoping that he’ll win the comp to spend some alone time with Sam to create a bit of drama in what is clearly a filler episode.

After coming out on top in the group activity, David gets some solo time with Sam but can only score a hug. At this point it’s become clear that Davey and David will be leaving the show across the next two episodes with Michael, Alex, Sasha and Richie left as serious contenders in the race. Yawn.
Also Team #Richie4Bachelor. He's the handsome dork we want and he's the handsome dork we need. #BacheloretteAU

Everyone’s favourite Rope Technician then steps up on his single date and Sam really stresses that she wants to get ‘quirky’. Dressed as 80 year olds, they hit the lawn bowls club for bingo and Richie abseils his way in to Australian hearts, positioning himself as a crowd favourite. Literally, this guy is the full package – good looks, a total dork, kind and the guy can fucking breakdance! I mean c’mon!

Miraculously they appear young again as Sam hosts Richie for a movie night. Richie is clearly in to the popcorn as Sam plays a recorded message of the blokes mum and sister that Sam waves goodbye to.
Back at the house the boys are joking around before a defiant Sam walks in and quickly takes Davey off for a chat. Things just don’t seem right. There’s no Andy G intro to the cocktail party, no small talk – it’s straight to the point and the suspense is huge.
Sam then proceeds to tell Davey a whole heap of assumptions she’s made about his character flaws without actually spending much quality time with the bloke. What happens next is anyones guess. There’s tension, build up and awkward silences. The editing is crass and you get the sense the produces aren’t giving us the full picture.
Then BAM. Ad break.
Sam is treating Davey like she just found out he's cheating on her. #BacheloretteAU

When we return, Andy G pulls TV’s biggest dramatic pause and tells the boys that Davey has been killed off the show and Sam has left the house. Game fucking over. The boys are visibly disappointed and pull some cliché footy player lines about ‘giving it 110%’ and ‘staying focused’ that provide literally no insight in to how they’re feeling.
Michael then wraps things up by stating that Sam has been really ‘fair’ to Davey by breaking things off respectfully in a private conversation – despite the whole thing clearly playing out in spectacular fashion on one of the countries highest rating TV shows. Good one fella.
Something big went down and damn it, we deserve answers!
