We’re down to the final 4 and it was time for the hometown visits… Sam’s set to clock up some serious frequent flyer points as she jets her way around the country to meet the families and friends of the lucky lads who’ve made the cut.

First stop is Brisbane, where she meets Michael at his first soccer club. Michael proves that he was never a Socceroo, by losing a penalty shoot-out to Sam. The pair then embark on a romantic boat cruise on the Brisbane River. Next stop is Michael’s parents place, where his dad puts in some fucking smoooooth moves and dishes out plenty of compliments to Frosty. After one final pash, home visit number 1 is finished and Sam is off.

Being an English gent, Alex doesn’t have a home base, so he tries to win her heart by inviting her to a cold and overcast Avoca Beach to impress Sam. It is quickly realised that Sam is a horrendous surfer. The two then venture back to an apartment where it’s revealed that Alex’s sister will be joining them for dinner. Sam is a little bit pissed because she thought she had dodged a wrath of questions… but no! Fortunately for Sam, she survives, and date number 2 is concluded with an awkward hug.

Next stop is Perth with Richy, who takes Sam for a spot of sight-seeing. They then head to a display home for dinner with Richy’s family and best mates… bloody pack of ripper blokes they are! Sam cops a grilling from the boys and cops some tense questioning from his mum and sister while they make the salad. Sam ticks all the boxes and gets through unscathed. It’s then smoochy time and Sam is stoked to only have one home visit left.

It’s off to Bowral, to pay tribute to the town’s 2 most famous exports, Donald Bradman and Sasha Mielczarek. Unfortunately ‘The Don’ couldn’t be in attendance, but Sasha has a romantic date organised for Frosty nonetheless. Fallen contestant, Drew has returned in the form of a singer and croons Sam with a song that conveys Sasha’s love for her. They then begin awkwardly dancing, but this time Sasha decides against the Patrick Swayze singlet. It’s dinner time and Sasha’s mum seems un-impressed at first, but yes, she is won over by the charm and open-ended answers that Sam has given on every date. Sam continues to be a busy girl on the kissing-front. She’s at it again with Sasha the Pasher and before we know it, the home visits are finished.

Rose Ceremony time, and it’s pretty obvious that the English gent, Alex is on his way home. It’s a bittersweet moment, as he has a glint in his eye, thinking about all the D-Grade celebrity entitlements that come with being an ex-Bachelorette contestant. See you at the Spring Racing Carnival old chap!

So we’re left with 3 guys and it’s now a very level playing field. Shit’s about to get real!
