Get ready for your mind to be blown, as a woman on TikTok has perfectly debunked the myth that some men spin when they say their girlfriend has suddenly dumped them for no valid reason.

It’s a tale as old as time. Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl falls for boy, boy and girl date for awhile, until girl calls it quits out of the blue. The man in this situation is often left wondering how it went wrong, ignoring the many, many warning signs.

Thankfully, TikToker Jennifer Reardon (@notjenneeree) has mapped out the anatomy of a breakup — and it might be the most relatable thing I’ve seen all year. “If you’re a boy who has been dumped by your girlfriend for seemingly no apparent reason, and you’re looking for answers — this is what happened,” Jennifer begins.

Jennifer goes on to say that a couple begins with a “simple fixable problem” which she gives an example for: the man doesn’t send his girlfriend a text in the morning. The girlfriend flags this as a small problem, and while the boyfriend agrees to change, he eventually stops doing this, making it a “bigger problem”, and despite another reminder, he doesn’t follow through, which signifies he doesn’t “care enough” about her.

From there, the girlfriend starts picking fights about small, petty things that reinforce her belief that he doesn’t care about her, like being late to dinner, or not noticing a new haircut. These tiny problems eventually morph into “unattractive qualities” which makes the woman no longer like her boyfriend any more.

Once the girl no longer likes her boyfriend, it doesn’t matter if he attempts to fix the small problems — the damage is already done.

THE ACCURACY OF THIS GODDAMN TIKTOK.

The clip has been flooded by positive comments, with TikTok users adding praise like “Give this woman a PHD”, and “that’s the clearest broken down explanation ever”.

While this might not apply to every single breakup on earth, there’s no denying that small issues can fester into bigger issues in every relationship, which often evolves into growing resentments between partners.

Hey fellas, when in doubt, just send a goddamn good morning text, okay?!
