Today Victoria Became The First Government To Apologise To Homosexuals For Past Convictions
Daniel Andrews continues to be the coolest and most progressive premiere in the country, as the state of Victoria today made a world-first formal apology to the gay community, for past laws that criminalised homosexual behaviour.
It might be shocking to hear but homosexuality was only decriminalised in 1981, therefore there still remains thousands of LGBT people that still hold convictions for being homosexual before the law was overturned.
Today at 2 the Victorian Government will formally apologise to the men convicted of historic homosexual offences. Huge moment. #springst

While since September, LGBT people have been able to apply to have their convictions expunged, this will be the first formal apology of its kind- in the freakin’ world.
