Thousands gather to protest Sydney’s lockout laws
Protesters took to Sydney’s streets on Sunday to play loud music and party in protest of the city’s tough lockout restrictions. News.com.au spoke with The Reclaim The Streets rally spokesman Jack London who said:
“The lockout laws haven’t reduced alcohol-related violence. They’ve just moved the problem to Newtown and crippled our city’s night-time economy”
Paul Walker’s Daughter has launched a new foundation in his honour
16 year old Meadow Walker shared her new foundation supporting marine science education on Instagram, on the same date as her late father’s birthday. In the caption she explained how proud she was of her dad and his love for the ocean. See the photo on Instagram here.
Plane crash kills two on Tom Cruise film set
Two crew members were killed in a light plane crash in Colombia after wrapping up work on the Tom Cruise drug drama ‘Mena’. A stunt pilot and two other crew members were on the flight after filming had finished with only one person said to have survived.
Amy Schumer used to rent Jake Gyllenhaal’s house
Talking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Amy Schumer revealed she coincidentally used to rent Jake Gyllenhaal’s house. Although she had never really met Gyllenhaal she made herself at home by going through her things. Schumer then showed footage she had recorded while drunk going through his freezer and eating a left over birthday cake that was left in the house.
Mayweather enters retirement on top
Floyd Mayweather has capped off a 19 year career with a final victory against Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas over the weekend. The controversial fighter won by unanimous decision and will retire holding his WBC and WBA welterweight titles.
