Troye Sivan Just Dropped His Australian Tour Dates And I’m SCREAMING

ATTENTION: TROYE SIVAN FINALLY ANNOUNCED HIS AUS TOUR DATES! EVERYTHING IS IN CAPITAL LETTERS AND SHOUTED IN MY HEAD!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been manifesting this moment since Troye dropped his monstrously-fun album Something To Give Each Other last October.

With mega-hits like ‘Rush’, ‘One Of Your Girls’ and ‘Got Me Started’, STGEO was not only absolutely adored by fans but critically acclaimed. Pitchfork referred to Troye as a “hedonistic pop hero on an album that pulls together club nights, tender moments, last-call horniness, and eclectic samples with remarkable finesse,” while Rolling Stone referred to the album as “a  pristine slice of pop heaven.”

WHERE IS THE LIE?

While Troye has been considered one of Australia’s biggest entertainment exports for over a decade, (creating three immaculate pop albums, appearing in huge films and TV shows, attending the Met Gala and featuring in one of the best Architectural Digest house tours I’ve ever seen), the STGEO album catapulted him into the next stage of his career. And it’s super exciting.

“AU/NZ, it’s happening.. the Something to Give Each Other Tour is coming home <3 register for pre-sale at troyesivan.com,” Troye shared on his Instagram this morning (cue me violently rushing over to his website to register).

The 29-year-old local pop legend kicked off the European leg of his tour on May 29th in Lisbon and finished up June 28th in Birmingham. The month of shows looked magical, with Troye imbuing each performance with his subversive style, elaborate choreography and queer joy.

Next up, Troye is partnering up with the equally iconic Charli XCX for the Sweat Tour, which the duo announced in April (and rightfully breaking the internet). The co-headlining tour will take place in North America during September and October, and I’m genuinely happy that the US will get a final chance to party before Trump probably gets re-elected and ruins the country.

Enough foreplay, let’s get to the main event.

The Oceania leg of the tour will commence November 19th in Adelaide at The Drive, followed by November 21st in Melbourne at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, November 26th in Brisbane at Riverstage, November 28th in Sydney at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and December 2nd in Auckland at Spark Arena. It’s gonna be warm, it’s gonna be lush, it’s gonna be an inclusive PARTY.

Presented by Smirnoff and Live Nation (what a combo), ticket information and presale ticket registration can be accessed via Troye’s website, the Live Nation page or Ticketek’s waitlist. While there is no pricing information yet, I would personally sell a kidney at this point for a chance to mosh during ‘Honey’.

Presale tickets will be available from July 11th, with the general sale going live on July 16th.

Mark your calendars girlies, I know this one is gonna be epic.

Written by Lil Friedmann, a pop music girlie who WILL be at the tour, sans kidney. You can follow her at @lilfriedmann on socials.
