Dust off your FBI badges, as ‘The X-Files’ is being revived AGAIN, and will return for another 10 episodes. Bring on the alien conspiracy theories!

The new installments will continue the story formed in the 2016 comeback season and will premiere in 2017-18. All the stars are on board, with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson signed on, alongside series creator and showrunner Chris Carter.

The news was announced in an ominous post to social media:

While tbh, the 2016 limited-series revival was a bit shit. It still averaged a multiplatform audience of 16 million viewers, according to its network Fox. President of Fox Broadcasting Company David Madden said the series has more stories to tell.

“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why ‘The X-Files’ has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” he said.

“Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of ‘The X-Files’.”

Hopefully we can expect some spooky fucked-up stories and Scully continuing to barely tolerate Mulder’s cuckoo crazy rubbish.
