How An ‘Unconventional’ Bachelor Relationship Could Be The Most Meaningful Romance Of The Series

In a mere matter of hours, this year’s season of The Bachelor Australia draws to a close with Australia’s coolest banana Richie Strahan making his choice between single mum Alex and winner *cough* real estate agent Nikki.

ARE WE SURPRISED!?

The two have been the crystal-clear front runners of the entire season – but what no one expected was that two exited contestants could find love with each other. It’s a idea that has long been fantasised by some viewers, with often the female contestants being the stars of the show and at times far more interesting than the bachelor himself.

The friendships formed from the prior seasons between the girls are at times much stronger and longer lasting bonds than the relationships. In the case of fan-favourite Megan Marx and early exit Tiffany Scanlon, it looks like a romance is growing between the two, and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.

The besties have been inseparable since meeting on The Bachelor, and feature non-stop in one another’s Instagrams in adorbs couple-lookin’ shots. At times they’re wearing very little – but who can blame them, they’re BABES.

In one Instagram post uploaded by Megan, the two are wrestling around in the bedroom, with the image captioned “So far the only times you’ve hurt me, is when you’ve made me laugh too hard”.

The images have led to questions over whether Megan and Tiffany were more than friends. When asked about the relationship, Megan told NW:

“I’m usually attracted to men but I don’t rule anything out… I would say Tiff’s in the same boat,” Megan said. “Tiff is a beautiful woman and we’re very close.”

Tiffany added “I did find love on The Bachelor… I love [Megan] so much”.

SO. FREAKING. WONDERFUL.

The two blondies aren’t too keen on labels. Last week Tiffany shared a black and white photo, writing: “I am in love with what we are, not what we should be.”

According to OK! Megan would not deny the pair were dating, saying “I think you can probably tell from the pictures that have been posted that we don’t have the most conventional relationship,” she said.

“I think that when it comes to attraction, for me, it’s usually a connection of minds and humour before anything else and I’m traditionally attracted to men but I don’t rule anything out … I would say Tiff’s in the same boat.”

Whether the gals are actually dating or just enjoying a blossoming friendship, either way at least we know something wonderfully unexpected can come from a truckload of beautiful women vying for the affections of one man.

As Megan posted to Instagram this week:

“Amongst nature and good friends, satisfying work, and the occasional drunken nights; come the excitements and pleasures of the moment, a new day, the future, and the liberation I have found after many years of caged living. Truth and happiness reign and I hope they do for you too.”

We wish Megan and Tiffany all the best.
