UNSW Issues Security Warning After Anonymous Campus Shooting Threat

Sydney’s University of New South Wales (UNSW) has issued a security alert, after allegations that a threat has been made against students and staff on the Kensington campus.

The university posted via their Facebook page that NSW Police through the anti-terrorism and security group are working with them to monitor the situation.

The threat was made via an anonymous user on popular blogging forum, 4chan. You can read the thread here.

According to Pedestrian, the University reportedly sent an email to students and staff, alerting them to the threat, but did not suggest that students should stay away from the campus.

UPDATE 1.15PM: UNSW have released a statement to say that the campus is not evacuated but will allow students to leave the campus without being penalised.
