VAMFF BACKSTAGE: Pageant Designers Amanda Cumming and Kate Reynolds Translate Inspiration Into Wearable Art

The design duo behind Pageant, Amanda Cumming and Kate Reynolds, really do embody what they describe as the “quintessential Pageant woman.”
They’re fun but they’re serious, they’re intelligent and witty, and they’re passionate about self expression. Having won the Tiffany & Co Design Award during last year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, Pageant return to the runway tonight as their label grows with them.
This year’s festival sees Pageant hit the runway twice, presenting both their collaboration with Banoffee as well as their Autumn Winter 2016 collection. TheVine’s host Jasmin Howell visit the Pageant studio to chat about their involvement with the festival, the importance of wardrobe versatility and how to translate inspiration into wearable art.
