McCain Vegemite Pizza Pockets Now Exist And IDK How To Feel
Vegemite sandwiches and Pizza Pockets are all foods that you would find in a school canteen, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to combine the two?
Well, the iconic Aussie chippy brand McCain and Vegemite have collaborated to bring us the most iconic, most Aussie invention ever: Vegemite Lil’ Pizzas and Vegemite Pizza Pockets!
And to clarify, no, it’s not just a pizza crust packed to the brim with Vegemite spread. It’s a mixture of cheese and Vegemite, which absolutely slaps! The only thing that is quite unique — and frankly, a combination I’ve never tried — is Vegemite mixed with tomato sauce, and I bet the taste would be quite….chaotic. IDK my palette is screaming thinking about it.
The Vegemite Lil’ Pizzas only take five minutes in the air fryer, and the Pizza Pockets require only 70 seconds, making them the perfect snack for those who are on a time crunch. Also, it’s perfect for those who need a little treat in between reality TV commercials.
McCain’s Marketing Manager Sara Black reckons that both products will change the entire snacking game. I mean, the thought of Vegemite and pizza together is quite mind-blowing.
“The whole team and I are so excited about forging two of Australia’s most iconic food brands together for a snack that will be more iconic to Australia than kangaroos,” she said.
Russ.eats, an incredibly hilarious Aussie food reviewer on TikTok, featured the Pizza Pocket in one of his videos, and his reaction to the unique treat was gold. He ultimately rated the snack a 4/10.

Although Russ didn’t like the Pizza Pocket too much, many users commented their “need” for the new treat.
And TBH, I would most definitely give both the Lil’ Pizzas and Pizza Pockets a try, mostly for the nostalgia-factor of having a pizza pocket and Vegemite, just like the good ol’ school days.
The little treats are now available at IGA and independent grocers, but in mid-to-late February, these little chaos demons will land in Coles and Woolies.
So instead of being a happy little Vegemite, you can be a Happy Vegemite Pizza Pocket (or Lil’ Pizza)!
