Good news for Veronica Mars fans that weren’t satisfied with the series’ Kickstarter funded film reboot. According to series creator Rob Thomas, there are already plans for a revival, which will likely come in the form of six hour-long episodes.

As reported by TVLine, while the creator was promoting season 3 of The CW’s iZombie at the Television Critics Association, he said he was still very much on board for more Veronica Mars, but a series comeback will depend on its star Kristen Bell’s availability.

The main roadblocks is that Bell is now starring in new sitcom The Good Place, while Thomas is currently developing The CW series The Lost Boys.

“If those things weren’t happening, we might be closer to a Veronica Mars [continuation]. The Good Place, I think, is going to be on NBC for a while. And if Lost Boys goes [to series], finding that window will be tricky. But we both want to do it,” reported TVLine.

But the odds are in our favour, and in terms of another revival, it doesn’t seem to be a question of if but when.

“Kristen and I both want to figure out some way we could do a six-episode Veronica Mars mystery,” Thomas said. “If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don’t know when it will be.”
