Viewers Are Filthy With A ‘MasterChef’ Celeb Chef For His Treatment Of Perfect Angel Sashi
While celebrity chefs are notoriously cranky, one restaurateur who appeared on MasterChef last night, Monty Koludrovic, is being called out for bullying a contestant.
The head chef of Bondi Icebergs helped run the kitchen in last night’s challenge and was seen being pretty feisty with series fave Sashi, as he attempted to create a pumpkin, pine nut raviolo with mushroom and red wine sauce.
It's a privilege to be cooking with @montykoludrovic at the pass today ? #MasterChefAU pic.twitter.com/Ufurd29fHU

As Sashi’s dish was running late, Monty could be seen trying to make him apologise to the waiters in a fairly demeaning tone, upsetting some viewers.
On the flipside, the professional chefs on this show are there to teach these aspiring cooks how to run a professional kitchen, and sometimes that might mean being a bit strict.
Overall, the episode has garnered a bunch of criticism.
Some viewers were defending Monty’s actions:
To be fair, Monty tried to give Sashi advice at the start when he heard that making pasta was not in his strong suit. Sashi ignored his advice. Many people would be put off by that. #MasterChefAU

I love Sashi, but y'all are overreacting about how harsh Monty was. It's a pro kitchen! Y'all calling him a baby eater for saying hurry up #MasterChefAU

This is a reality show, where the editors job is to make controversy, Sashi was very late and got a hard time for #MasterChefAU

I don't think Sashi was bullied. That seems to be how chef's talk but it's also why I'd never be one.Being shouted at is not my preferred form of encouragement.#MasterChefAU

But most viewers are pretty filthy with the professional chef’s behaviour.
We had @GordonRamsay for a whole week yelling, screaming & demanding food on time, but never once it felt like he thinks these contestants were beneth him. Even in his yelling there was love & respect. Today's epi left me sad, all thanks to Monty #MasterChefAU

Running a kitchen in a strict manner, fair.
Being a condescending jackass in how you treat people working with you? Dick move.Monty can't hide his disdain for the contestants, and Sashi has been copping this from him all service #MasterChefAU

There's a difference between constructive criticism and blatant disrespect. Monty's rude and disgusting. @bondiicebergs maybe try and remember when u sign onto a show for AMATEUR COOKS cook in your kitchen that they won't work to your "standards" the 1st time round #MasterChefAU

@masterchefau that was disgusting to watch. That was so humiliating for Sashi, and borderline if not real workplace bullying. Unacceptable. I don’t care if that’s ‘what usually happens in the kitchen’. So disappointed watching this episode. #MasterChefAU

Not sure if being a rude shit to the contestants is great advertising for the restaurant #MasterChefAU Certainly doesn't make me want to spend my money there

Please understand that the reason people are upset and angry is not because Monty was yelling and being tough it’s because he humiliated Sashi in front of waiters on national t.v, forced him to apologise. #MasterChefAU

It all ended amicably as Monty congratulated Sashi at the end of the cook saying, “Bravo, well done, you got there. You gave me a scare.”
Of course, Sashi handled it all like a perfect angel.
You know what gets me? At the end Sashi actually thanked Monty for the experience #MasterchefAU.
