The past year has been a huge for Australian television. Between reality TV standouts Survivor and The Bachelor/Bachelorette, there’s been great viewing across local drama and comedy, including Offspring, Please Like Me and plenty more. 2016 really threw up the goods.

1. The Bachelor’s Richie chose Alex over Nikki

We all know the story by now. We watched and followed the love story of Nikki and Richie on The Bachelor. We felt sorry for Alex, but you can’t change true love and Nikki and Richie were 5EVA. But then Richie ruined his future and chose Alex and Australia mourned what could have been.
