Tinder launches The Big Rainbow Project! Help find a home for the 1st BIG landmark celebrating regional LGBTQIA+ pride & inclusion.
Previously, we broke the story on Australia’s newest (and queerest) big thing; The Big Rainbow. Launched by Tinder and designed with members of the LGBTQIA+ and First Nations communities, Tinder’s Big Rainbow is Australia’s first BIG landmark to celebrate regional LGBTQIA+ pride and inclusion.
You see, regional Australia has over 150 big landmarks that are a monument to produce, sea creatures, and disappointment, but none that pay tribute to LGBTQIA+ Australians in remote communities.
Well, The Big Rainbow is here to change all that and become a beacon of diversity, inclusion, and self-expression for all. Now it’s your turn to have your say and vote for The Big Rainbow’s new home!
Earlier in the year, thousands of you suggested where The Big Rainbow should call home and Tinder worked with the community to narrow it down to four regional towns. They are:
- Broome, WA (Traditional lands of the Yawuru people)
- Daylesford, VIC (Traditional lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people)
- Hay, NSW (Traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people)
- Katherine, NT (Traditional lands of the Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman peoples)
Will The Big Rainbow find a home on the sandy shores of Broome or the foothills of the Great Dividing Range in Daylesford? Perhaps the western Riverina town of Hay will be the queer beacon’s home or perhaps it will go bush to the outback solitude of Katherine?
Either way, Tinder wants your voice to be heard!
