WATCH: Australian Survivor Is Back In 2017 And Meet The New Contestants
We’ve just been given our first taste of the impending new season of Australian Survivor and we can’t contain the excitement!
It’s been revealed by DeciderTV.com that joining host Jonathan LaPaglia and his oversized muscles on the island will be: former Olympian Nicola Zagame, photographer Jarrad Seng and fashion model Sarah Tilleke. According to the website, there were over 20,000 hopefuls that applied to make the chop, 5,000 more than last year’s return. But this was a given, considering how the 2016 comeback was received, becoming one of the year’s biggest TV hits.
While the identities of only five contestants have been revealed so far (see below), the site also reports that other contestants include a former special operations commander, an endurance athlete, a doctor, an adventure guide, and a plumber.
An unlisted video on Network Ten’s YouTube also gives you a sneak peek of what’s to come when the series premieres sometime later this year.
SNEAK PEAK: A first look at Australian Survivor:
So who will outwit, outlast and outplay each other to become the sole Survivor. Well, here’s the first five contestants we know by name so far:
Nicola Zagame
The 26-year-old former Olympian Nicola Zagame will be a tough one to beat. The Sydney-sider won Bronze while representing Australia in the women’s Water Polo team at the 2012 London Olympics. You’d expect her to be in peak fitness, so the others better watch out.
Jacqui Patterson
Byron Bay marriage celebrant Jacqui Patterson will join the comp. While her celebrant skills won’t be too handy (unless of course there’s a bit of love on the island), she also happens to be trapeze artists. Very handy for Survivor’s physical challenges which often require a high level of fitness and balance.
Jarrad Seng
Jarrad Seng is a Music and Adventure Photographer who kills it on Instagram, taking some epic snaps for his 190K+ followers. Just quietly, he was also a finalist for the West Australian Young Person of the Year. These ain’t no reg entrants.
Adam Parkin
A Survivor strategy involves a good bluff and international poker player Adam Parkin will be sure to pull off a strong poker-face.

In the meantime, we’ll keep our ears to the ground listening for any news announcements from the Lords at Network Ten. Stay tuned.
