When Kanye West takes to Twitter to announces a ‘secret’ fashion show, you can bet things are going to get out of hand quickly.

After shitty weather forced the cancellation of the Governor’s Ball Music Festival in New York on Sunday, Kanye had a stroke of (self-proclaimed) marketing genius to make it up to his fans.

Taking to Twitter, Yeezy gave out some not-so-subtle hints for a last minute secret fashion show to go down at 2am at Webster Concert Hall – a local nightclub with a capacity of 1,500 people.

As our own Corey Worthington knows all too well – social media is one helluva promo tool for throwing a free party and Kanye’s plan was a recipe for trouble from the get-go.

By 2am, an estimated 4,000 people had arrived outside the doors of the venue and were demanding entry to see Ye.

This, of course, made for some incredible scenes:

As the mob flooded the streets, they jumped on cars chanting “Pablo! Pablo!” and “Kanye! Kanye!”- waking up the neighborhood and causing all kinds of trouble.

As things escalated, the venue was forced to shutdown the show, leaving thousands of people stranded in the streets.

Kanye wasn’t going to let that slide though and even attempted to call the mayor of New York, to ask for entire roads to be closed and screens erected so people could party in the streets.

But this unfortunately is THE REAL WORLD and not Kanye’s ridiculous 12 year old imagination, so the nutso idea obviously fell flat on its ass.

But that didn’t stop Kanye creating more hype for himself as he attempted to appease his fans by appearing on top of a car. This dumb idea immediately backfired, as the crowd swelled around him causing even more trouble.

When the show failed to start, rumours went wild as fans started circulating news that he had been spotted at numerous other venues trying to make something happen.

That later included Trump SOHO, where the hotel manager desperately tries to get mislead fans to piss off.

Meanwhile, other channels including Webster Hall told everyone that no show would go ahead and encouraged people to “get home safely”.

While nothing eventuated from this latest episode of lunacy in Kanye’s ridiculous life – it sure as hell made for some pretty cool social media bragging rights for those that were in attendance:
